The commercial vehicle industry will finally meet again in person in the autumn of 2021. At the seventh NUFAM – The Trade Fair for Commercial Vehicles, more than 350 exhibitors will present the industry’s entire range of products and services: vehicles in all weight classes, e-mobility, alternative drives and hybrid systems, bodies and trailers, cranes and lifting equipment, tyres, parts, accessories, workshop equipment, telematics solutions, and services. In 2021, NUFAM will once again occupy a total of 70,000 square metres of exhibition space, encompassing all four halls of the Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre and its adjacent outdoor area. Implementing all necessary protective and hygienic measures depending on current incidence rates, NUFAM will combine the latest technology with mobility concepts of the future. The Federal Ministry of Transport and Digital Infrastructure, together with the Ministry of Transport of Baden-Württemberg, will once again act as patrons for the event.

Exhibitors present premieres and innovative new developments

Manufacturers’ brands will again be represented with large stand areas at NUFAM in 2021. In addition, innovations will be displayed by major players in the industry, including DAKO, F.X. Meiller, KEMPF Fahrzeugbau, Hiab, Hofmeister & Meincke, Kässbohrer, Krone, Kögel, Humbaur and many others. Alongside heavy and light commercial vehicles, bodies and trailers, visitors can also experience the newest loading cranes and truck-mounted forklifts live. In the field of digitalization, BPW Bergische Achsen, webfleet solutions and others will show their products. The range of exhibitors in the area of e-mobility will further expand thanks to the arrival of Quantron, König Metall, Powertec and Winter Fahrzeugtechnik.

Exhibitors have already announced vehicle and product premieres, innovations and other highlights to be shown at the trade fair. Volker Seitz from Quantron, which is exhibiting at NUFAM this year for the first time, explains why this e-mobility specialist is focusing on NUFAM: “We will be showing the Q-Light FCEV – the first van of its kind in Europe powered by H2 fuel cells. This trade fair is exactly the right platform for us to present our world premiere because we reach our target group here.”

New exhibitor Schmitz Cargobull will likewise unveil a premiere: “Personal contact and direct sharing with our customers: that’s what our business is all about. We were only able to digitally present our new EcoGeneration curtainsiders during the pandemic lockdown. Now we are presenting this sustainable curtainsider, which is designed for everyday transport, to a wider audience for the first time at NUFAM. The EcoFlex for reduced fuel consumption and lower CO2 emissions, and the S.KO COOL SMART refrigerated box with the Schmitz Cargobull S.CU transport refrigeration machine, can both be seen at our joint stand with the Kohrs company”, reports Boris Billich, Member of the Board of Schmitz Cargobull. Karlsruhe Trade Fair Company anticipates that many more premieres and new launches will further enliven this year’s stands at the trade fair.

The future-orientated topics of electromobility and autonomous driving will be just as much in focus as the perennial themes of energy efficiency, timesaving, cost reduction and driver shortages.

Themed areas and tours for efficient, clearly structured visits

Current transport solutions in all product segments will be displayed at NUFAM. The grouped thematic areas in the halls enable trade visitors to visit the fair in an efficient, well-structured manner. Numerous suppliers of workshop equipment and parts present themselves in the “Workshop, Parts, Accessories” area in Hall 1. Manufacturers of bodies and trailers predominate in Hall 2. Exhibitors showcase the latest telematics systems in the telematics area (Hall 3). Visitors will be able to inform themselves via lectures and discussion panels in the adjoining Telematics Forum. Light commercial vehicles, along with corresponding bodies and trailers, can likewise be found in Hall 3. Visitors will find the “Tyre” area with its well-known manufacturers and dealers in the dm-arena.

The four exhibition halls and the outdoor area are complemented by the Municipal Mile (between Halls 1 and 2 as well as in Hall 3 and the dm-arena), where commercial vehicles for the municipal sector are presented, as well as by the Demopark with presentations of exhibitors’ products and a comprehensive programme for the public. The outdoor area will feature a particularly large number of vehicles and bodies this year, so visitors can experience new models not only inside the halls, but also outdoors.

Visitors can also take guided tours of NUFAM. In addition to the Classic guided tour, which provides a broad overview of the fair’s highlights, New Mobility tours are also offered: here, exhibitors will showcase their innovations in the fields of alternative drives and digital assistance systems, and also present vehicle and product premieres related to New Mobility.

The programme for trade visitors provides practical information

As an informative platform and meeting place for face-to-face networking within the industry, NUFAM 2021 will again offer Specialist Days devoted to telematics, municipal vehicles and load securing as well as lectures and roundtable discussions on current topics facing the industry. Themes and issues that are much discussed in the commercial vehicle industry will be examined critically and with a focus on solutions during the four days of the trade fair. The major panel discussion at the opening on the first day will be followed by the Load Securing Forum on Friday and Saturday and by the popular Truck Driver Forum on Sunday. The future-orientated topics of electromobility and autonomous driving will be just as much in focus as the perennial themes of energy efficiency, timesaving, cost reduction and driver shortages. The programme for specialists will take into account technical and regulatory challenges facing the industry.

The highest standards of safety and hygiene at the trade fair

The team at Karlsruhe Trade Fair Centre places the utmost importance on high standards of hygiene and safety. Consultation and sales directly at the commercial vehicle will again be the focus of the upcoming event. Thanks to a comprehensive safety and hygiene concept, no restrictions are anticipated in face-to-face sharing between exhibitors and visitors. Online registration, a new admission system and the ample space available guarantee that visits to the trade fair will run smoothly: these aspects will not adversely affect the fair’s concept with presentations of vehicles and products. The hygienic concept, which is continuously coordinated with the responsible authorities, along with the protective measures in place at the time of the fair, assure safe visits with sufficient freedom of movement and adequate space for networking in a pleasant atmosphere.
